After the Faire: Two Weeks Later

It's hard to believe that it's been almost two weeks since our first Tallulah Faire. We have had time since then to recall what we learned about the experience: what we want to keep, what we want to change, what we want to add the NEXT time we have a show. Yes, you heard me, we are already talking about our next Tallulah Faire. Details will be forthcoming, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, we would like to share some pictures with you. If you were there, you just might see yourself. If you were not able to join us, you will be able to see what a great time we had.

That brings to mind that the Tallulah artists would like to thank all our "support staff". Thanks to the Walton family for offering the beautiful garden we were all able to enjoy. Additionally, to Robin, Ernie, and Ashley for welcoming, hosting, taking your money, and wrapping your treasures for transport. Cudos also to Bruce Langhorne (set-up) and Bill Weaver (assistant wrapper and go-fer) and multiple unnamed family, friends, and neighbors without whom we could not have pulled this off. And thanks to all of you who joined us in the garden to enjoy the spring day of fellowship and creativity.

A little sunnier forecast... and preparing for The Faire

So we are down to less than a day until our Tallulah Faire is come at last! We gathered in the garden today, so that we could make a beautiful garden even more colorful and inviting for our friends, family, and friends to be.

The weather report looks sunnier too, so our spirits are soaring! We will be so happy to greet you all and introduce your to our Tallulah Life!

Weekend Weather... praying for a sunny Saturday!

The Tallulah Life is full of little bumps in the road, but we are eternally optomistic about the creative powers that be and our ability to adjust to changing circumstances. Creative people find ways to proceed in the face of uncertainty. 

Weather reports at present are not favorable for the warm, sunny day we envisioned for our friends. Fear not! All who are Tallulahs are moving ahead, continuing to plan for our Tallulah Faire on April 28th, starting at 9:00 am.

In the meantime, we would appreciate your good wishes and prayers to The Creator. We are readying a spring celebration of creativity and fellowship for you this weekend. We hope to see you there.

Meet the Artist: Dotsie Parrish

This is the first in a series of profiles of the artists
                                                            who are living The Tallulah Life

My name is Dotsie Parrish and I am a Beadaholic. I love beads – any size, any color, any consistency, it doesn’t matter. I love to buy them, sell them, make them, trade them but not steal them – I must draw the line somewhere. I enjoy making paper beads and incorporating them into my jewelry. Making jewelry has opened my life to new techniques, products, awesome new friends and has been a source of artistic inspiration for the past several years.

I adore working with paper, altered arts, beaded wire crochet, collage and going on adventures in junk and thrift stores, looking for treasures to repurpose. My goal in life is to try to live an artful life and so far, so good.
